SUN TRAITORS are a modern hard rock power trio from Melbourne, Australia.

Joining the Melbourne music scene with their debut EP and first live show mid 2018 SUN TRAITORS aim to get dance floors moving again all over the world.

Jim – a Melbournian by birth spent many years honing his craft in the Ballarat music scene before returning to Melbourne to ride the wave of the singer/songwriter era of the mid 2000s. Jim’s style has evolved over the years influenced mainly by hard rock, blues and early grunge. Jim likes nothing more than crunching riffs through a cranked tube amp and delivering lead vocals loud and proud!

Iggy and Ed both hail from Venezuela and drive the band as the powerhouse rhythm section, both capable of taking the spotlight on their instruments.

Iggy grew up in the musical culture and rhythmic city of Maracaibo, Venezuela and started out by playing in cover bands – predominantly early 2000s punk/rock tunes. It wasn’t long before he expanded into the more technical genres such as power metal and prog metal. Iggy always ensures the groove is deep and heads are banging!

Ed – a native of Valencia, Venezuela was mainly influenced by NWOHM and thrash metal bands growing up and he picked up the guitar in his early teen years. An interest in the bass followed soon after and Ed opened his influences up to hard rock and blues rock bands. Ed’s low end tone is a thing to behold!

SUN TRAITORS cover new ground on their second release DARK MATTER – the first single and title track is scheduled for release through Headstone Records on Wednesday the 8th of July.

The title track DARK MATTER is a great example of the current perspective within the band including elements of grunge, metal, psych and prog appearing within riffs, hooks, solos, several heavy and sinister turns and an unforgettable chorus.
